To the ancient visitors coming from North,
overcoming the sinuous apenninic profile, Garfagnana appeared
as a green basin overhung by the splendid profile of Alpi
Apuane. Garfagnana in the time has not suffered radicals
transformations and its beauty has arrived intact up to
us thanks also to the creation of two parks that have stimulated
the development of a qualified tourism. Close to the sporting
activities tied up to the mountain, a careful tourism has
known how to rediscover the medieval suburbs that populate
the zone. Places and people, slow rhythms of a country civilization
that also today allows to rediscover typical products as
farro, flour of chestnuts, mushrooms and the production
of bagged and cheeses of quality, tutto frutto of an increasing
attention toward the tradition and the biological crop.
