What could be more beautiful than being able to share Heaven?
My name is Monica and with my husband Danilo, in 2005, we finished renovating an old farmhouse near a beautiful medieval village inhabited by just about seventy people, an idyllic place on top of a hill from where, at any time of the day, the panorama is enchanting, until it becomes emotional in front of certain sunsets.After working experiences in the medical and physiotherapy field I decided to focus on quality of life and thus a professionally managed accommodation facility was born, which in recent years has allowed us to host people from all over the world and to enrich our lives with many new friends. While I take care of the accommodation and delight the guests with some excellence of our territory, my husband Danilo takes care of the large park surrounding the villa. Being a professional hiking guide, Danilo offers to our guests the opportunity to enjoy the nature, history and traditions of which our valley is rich in. Walks, hiking, e-MTB, canyoning and speleological excursions are therefore proposed to our guests to ensure that their holiday can be a real experience! In 2008 Viola Pilar also arrived, she soon learned to communicate with the children of the families who decide to spend their holidays with us every year, in the meantime she has grown and is already an active part of this wonderful activity. We are proud of what we can offer to our guests: relax and privacy, but also experiences, good food and excellent wine, history, culture and traditions, emotions and friendship.

The Vision
La Locanda del Moro is a unique destination located near the charming and quiet medieval village of Sillico (70 inhabitants) in Garfagnana, in the province of Lucca, in a Tuscany yet to be discovered. We are open all year round, to let you experience: a fresh and relaxing Summer, among small villages festivals, dives in the pool and outdoor dinners, the exciting spring and autumn adventures or to take relaxing walks and taste the specialties of the area in every season.
We offer our guests unforgettable and authentic experiences, adrenaline-filled adventures, or simple excursions to discover the nature of our Parks, guided itineraries with our electric MTBs, the traditions and simple things of daily life in the valley. We take care of the territory by maintaining the ancient mule tracks and paths in the woods, we take care of our guests by aiming for sustainable and replicable development for our valley. Come and experience nature, discover history, taste the excellence of our land, the Garfagnana.
Sustainability
During the winter months, the apartments are heated by a biomass system. We reduce unnecessary electricity consumption as much as possible, producing all the necessary electricity with a photovoltaic plant. We irrigate the park thanks to an aqueduct that uses the waters of the river, which originates in the surrounding mountains. We are committed to ensuring that our guests separate their waste and use their food scraps for the
farmyard animals that live near the structure. We maintain the network of paths that surround the village of Sillico, so that the area is accessible
to lovers of slow tourism, in all seasons. In short, we do our best to minimize our environmental impact.
